Why You’re Not Getting Wedding Enquiries (And What to Do About It)

You’re posting regularly, updating your website, maybe even showing up on Reels. But your inbox? Quiet. If you're a wedding supplier wondering why you're not getting the enquiries you expected, you're not alone, and it’s not because you’re not talented enough.
The good news? This is fixable. Whether you're a wedding photographer, florist, planner, cake designer, or venue stylist, these small shifts can help you turn that radio silence into consistent, quality bookings.
Let’s unpack the common (but overlooked) reasons couples aren’t enquiring and the simple changes that can change that fast. Reason 1. You're Getting Ghosted After Sending Prices 💸
This is one of the biggest pain points we see inside our coaching programmes. You finally get an enquiry, you send over your price list... and then crickets.
Here’s the truth: sending prices without a strategy is like sending a bouquet without a note - beautiful, but unfortunately disconnected and leaves the receiver confused.
Try this instead:
First – stop sending your prices straight away. We’ve tested this across hundreds of wedding businesses, and here’s the truth: how do you even know what you’re quoting for? Couples aren’t looking for cookie-cutter packages or generic responses, they are looking for a bespoke experience. Even if what they end up booking is something you’ve delivered a hundred times before, they want to feel like it’s unique, special, and crafted just for them. They don’t want to feel like a cog in a machine - they want to feel seen, heard, and taken care of.
Once you've had a conversation and ideally hopped on a call and have sent those prices over, use a follow-up script that adds context to your pricing.
Include social proof or testimonials in your price guide.
Guide them to the next step: a call, a brochure, a booking form, don’t make them guess what to do.
Practice asking for the sale on your call. Most of our wedding business clients are closing within the first few days of initially receiving that enquiry, and it isn't because they gave their pricing away straight away.
Result: One of our clients, Michelle, used this approach and now has a steady stream of ideal enquiries. She’s just £6k away from her first six-figure year and works fewer hours with more clarity on what to do and when.
Reason 2. Your Instagram Bio Is Repelling the Right People ❌
It might sound dramatic, but if your Instagram bio isn’t clear, you’re losing followers (and future bookings) every day.
Your bio is prime real estate. Couples decide within seconds if you're the right fit, and if they don’t get it, they’re gone.
Update it with these essentials:
Say what you do and where you are. Example: "Luxury Wedding Florist | Cheshire"
Add a call to action. Example: "DM me 'Availability' for 2025 dates"
Make your link work hard. Drive it to a contact form, lead magnet, or a booking page not just your homepage.
Bonus tip: Use tools like Linktree or Milkshake if you don’t have a website yet. And if you do have a website, hide those links on a custom built landing page just for Instagram.

Reason 3. You’re Not Asking for Referrals 📢
We get it, it feels awkward. But past couples are your best marketing team.
Make it easy: Send a simple message like:
"Hi [Name]! Just wanted to say thank you again for letting me be part of your day. I’ve got a couple of spaces left for next season, if you know anyone recently engaged, I’d love it if you passed my name on."
Offer a small thank-you (gift, discount, or even a public shout-out) if someone books through them. Then pop a reminder in your calendar to do this quarterly.
You’ll be amazed how many referrals show up when you make it part of your marketing ecosystem.
Reason 4. You’re Making Content But Not Creating Conversations
You don’t need more content: you need content that sparks connection.
Modern couples (especially Gen Z and Millennials) are more likely to DM you than fill out a contact form. If your content doesn’t encourage this, you’re missing out.
Use this instead:
Create a free download (lead magnet) like a "Wedding Planning Checklist" or "Top 5 Cake Mistakes to Avoid"
Set up a ManyChat flow so when someone DMs or comments a keyword like “Checklist,” they get the freebie instantly and you've got a way to follow up with that couple.
Post a Reel or Story that says: "DM me 'Checklist' for a free wedding planning guide!"
It’s seamless, it’s automated, and it feels personal. Especially when you spark a conversation.

Tool tip: Use Canva to design your freebie and link it up via ManyChat through Meta Business Suite.
