FAQ'S

Got questions? You’re not alone.

We’ve coached hundreds of wedding professionals and heard it all - the fears, the doubts, the “what-am-I-even-doing?” moments.

This FAQ page brings together the most common questions we hear from wedding business owners just like you, whether you’re just starting out or scaling to six figures.

From pricing to marketing to burnout and beyond, these answers are here to give you clarity, confidence, and real direction. We’ve also linked helpful podcast episodes, blogs, and resources so you can dive deeper when you need it.

Let’s get you unstuck and moving forward with purpose.

“The key to success is not in having all the answers, but in knowing which questions to ask.”

  • We get this one a lot - and we love it. Starting from zero is exciting, but also overwhelming. The truth? You don’t need everything figured out. You just need to start.

Begin by getting clear on what you offer (and who you want to serve). Then begin sharing what you do with confidence. The logo, branding, and website can evolve over time - what matters is that people know you exist and understand the value of what you offer.

Be visible. Be helpful. Be consistent. That’s where momentum starts.

  • Your focus should be clarity and visibility - not perfection.

Too many new business owners get stuck behind-the-scenes, tweaking logos or endlessly redoing their About page. Instead, start with a simple offer and get it in front of real people. Build relationships. Start conversations. Get visible in your local area and online.

We break this down in our free guide: 20 Ways to Get More Wedding Clients - it’s a great place to start if you're feeling overwhelmed.

  • This is one of the biggest mindset hurdles we see - and one of the fastest ways to build (or break) your business.

There’s no perfect price. But undercharging to “get your name out there” rarely leads to dream clients. Look at the time you’re spending, the costs involved, and the value you’re delivering. Then build in a margin that supports your goals - not just your expenses.

You’re not just charging for time. You’re charging for talent, transformation, and the experience you bring to the table.

  • Instagram is a brilliant visibility tool - but it’s not a long-term business HQ.

You don’t need a complicated site to start, but we do recommend at least a one-page website with your services, a bit about you, and how to book. It builds trust, helps you appear in search (and AI-generated results), and gives people a sense of who you are.

Inside WedPro CEO, we help our clients structure their websites so they speak directly to the right couples - not just look pretty. Because design is nice… but conversion is what actually gets bookings.

  • Your ideal client is more than a Pinterest board and a price point. They’re the people who make you excited to show up and do your best work.

    Think about:

What kind of weddings light you up?
What types of people are easiest to connect with?

Where do those people spend time (online and offline)?
When you get clear on that, your messaging, branding, and content all become more effective - because you’re speaking directly to the people you want to attract.

Need help figuring it out? This blog on niching down is a solid first step.

  • Your content should do three powerful things: build trust, showcase your expertise, and invite action.

We recommend rotating between these five post types for maximum impact: Educational - tips, FAQs, planning advice, Real weddings/case studies - show your work and the story behind it, Personal - share who you are and why weddings matter to you, Social proof – client testimonials and love notes, Clear CTAs - tell people exactly how to enquire or book

Not sure what that looks like? Check out The 5 Types of Social Media Posts That Actually Book Weddings  from our blog- it breaks this formula down beautifully

  • We don’t give legal or financial advice, but we strongly recommend doing your research on this one.

If you're working in person, at events or venues, it’s worth exploring what insurance might protect you, your equipment, or your clients. Many venues require it. A quick chat with an insurance provider who works with creative businesses will point you in the right direction.

  • You don’t need Facebook Ads or Google campaigns to get booked.

    Start by:

    • Reaching out to suppliers and venues in your area

    • Posting value-led content on Instagram or TikTok

    • Telling your existing network what you do and who you help

    • Offering a limited number of portfolio-building bookings (without underpricing your value)

Want a checklist you can action this week? Download our free guide: 20 Ways to Get More Wedding Clients - it’s full of non-icky, non-paid strategies that work.

  • Niching feels scary, but it’s one of the best things you can do for your brand and your sanity.

Start by asking: What kind of weddings do I love most? What type of couple really gets me and my work? The clearer you are, the easier it is to attract dream clients — and the less likely you are to be stuck doing work that drains you.

Need help? This blog on how to niche without boxing yourself in breaks it down beautifully.

  • Confidence doesn’t come first - action does.

Every wedding pro we know has felt imposter syndrome at some point. But confidence is built by showing up, doing the work, and proving to yourself that you’re capable.

Try this: write down three things you’re proud of, even if they’re small. Remind yourself of the value you bring. And then go do the next brave thing - email the venue, post the Reel, raise your prices. You’ve got this.

  • Ghosting often means one of three things:

    1. They didn’t see enough value or urgency in your offer

    2. The follow-up lacked structure or clarity

    3. They got overwhelmed and moved on

A strong, value-led follow-up email (or even better – a call) can shift this. Inside WedPro CEO, we teach a five-step sales flow that helps you follow up without feeling awkward and guide couples toward a decision.

And if you haven’t already, listen to our podcast episode: What to Do When People Ghost You After Enquiring — it’s packed with practical tips that work.

  • Raising your prices isn’t about sneaking in a new number and hoping for the best — it’s about confidently showing your value, and aligning your pricing with the experience you deliver.

    Before you increase your fees:

    • Audit your current enquiries: Are you consistently booking or getting pushed back?

    • Review your messaging: Does your website, socials, and email flow support your new positioning?

    • Add value and clarity, not just cost

Our podcast, Reasons Why You Might Want to Raise Your Prices, walks you through thestrategy behind this in more detail.

  • Standing out isn’t about flashy logos or reinventing the wheel - it’s about clarity, consistency, and confidence in what you bring to the table.

If your content, client journey, and brand experience all reflect the same standout message, you’ll rise above the noise without shouting.

In our blog 6 Ways to Skyrocket Your Wedding Biz, we walk you through how to build real momentum by doing what actually works - from refining your message to building powerful visibility habits.

  • Let’s be honest - posting on Instagram every single day is not only unsustainable, it’s not the only way to get visible. In fact, it’s not even the most effective way to build trust with potential clients anymore. The key to real visibility is showing up where it counts - consistently, and with intention. That might mean refining your website messaging, building venue or supplier relationships, creating a blog strategy, or nurturing your email list. In Episode 147: The Mid-Year Reset Wedding Suppliers Didn’t Know They Needed, we break down how to regain momentum when you’ve hit a wall and offer practical steps for getting seen again without needing to be online 24/7. It’s the perfect listen if you’re feeling stuck or like your visibility’s taken a dip:

  • Supplier and venue relationships aren’t just a nice-to-have - they’re one of the most powerful, sustainable ways to generate high-quality leads. But here’s the secret: it’s not about pitching yourself or handing out business cards. It’s about connection, consistency, and creating genuine value. Start by showing up where they are - open evenings, wedding fairs, styled shoots. Comment on their content with intention. Support their work. In the WedPro CEO programme, we walk you through our full supplier connection strategy (including blogs, DMs, and referrals) to help you build a real organic leads system without feeling like you’re cold-calling other suppliers. It works - and it’s one of the fastest ways to fill your diary without relying on ads.

  • We’ve all been there - you had a plan to show up consistently, but then life happened. Kids off school, wedding season chaos, burnout creeping in… suddenly it’s been three weeks since you posted or emailed your list.

Consistency doesn’t have to mean daily content — it means having a system that keeps working even when you step back. That’s why batching, templates, and automation are your best friends. In Episode 134: Productivity Hacks for Wedding Pros, we share smart time-saving tools, batching strategies, and mindset shifts to help you stay on track without sacrificing your sanity.

  • This is such a common question - and the answer isn’t one-size-fits-all. If you’re struggling with low or inconsistent bookings, you’ll want to prioritise lead generation and sales. If you’re getting enquiries but they’re not converting, you need to tweak your sales process. And if you're already booked out but feeling overwhelmed? Then systems and operations are your next step. In Episode 131: Stop Pouring Leads Into a Leaky Sales Bucket, we explain why focusing solely on getting more leads can actually be a waste of time if your backend systems aren’t set up to convert. This episode is a must-listen if you’ve ever felt like you’re working really hard but still not seeing results.

  • Burnout creeps in when your business relies solely on you to function - when you’re the content creator, the bookkeeper, the sales team, and the customer service all in one. The solution isn’t always to do less, but to do things better: with smarter workflows, more boundaries, and better support.

That’s why in Episode 144: Email Marketing for Wedding Pros, we talk about how automation can take pressure off your day-to-day - especially when it comes to marketing. Imagine having a welcome sequence running in the background while you’re shooting a wedding or enjoying time off. That’s how you protect your energy and still stay visible.

  • It’s totally normal to hit a slump mid-year - especially if bookings aren’t flowing, goals feel out of reach, or you’re just feeling meh. The good news is that a reset doesn’t require scrapping everything. In Episode 147: The Mid-Year Reset, we walk through a step-by-step strategy for reflecting, refocusing, and re-aligning. This isn’t fluffy mindset work — it’s real, practical advice for taking control of your next 6 months. Whether you’re behind where you wanted to be or just need a new spark, this is your sign to pause and re-plan.

  • If you're tired of short-term wins and want to create a business that supports your life (not the other way around), it’s time to shift from reactive to strategic. That means understanding your numbers, streamlining your client journey, having clear goals, and focusing on lifetime value instead of chasing trends. In Episode 80: Strategising for Success, we unpack exactly how to build a business that works for you year after year - not just through one wedding season. From decision-making frameworks to values-led planning, this is the mindset reset many wedding pros didn’t know they needed
